Senior Thesis - 2025

This project is a series of oil paintings that feature my friends and I in different famous classical pieces that I was able to study while abroad. They share a juxtaposition of modernity in classical backgrounds and clothing. Tinaz, an Indian woman as a Greek god, me as a baby angel but with purple hair, or my other friend Emma, where instead of a Medici daughter covered in pearls, there’s a blonde woman with beads… things that make sense in modern times, but would be blacklisted back then. In my thesis I want to portray the contrast of my two biggest inspirations, art history and the people I cherish.
