"Mom" 2025

I gravitated to something that could be considered almost cliche with this piece. My mother has always called me the sun to her moon, with her and I consistently being enticed by anything celestial. When thinking about what I wanted to create, I knew it had to be something that could accurately depict my admiration for her, and the influence she has on me no matter where she is. Having her be behind me while looking in the opposite direction as me, illustrates this idea of her guidance, and her steering me into a different direction than what she had originally chosen for herself. We stand together, looking in different directions, yet both still looking at the same sky, as the constellations of my brothers and father glisten above us.
